Default Remote Keyless Entry Question

I just bought a 2000 Sk2. Naturally, no owner's manual. I have two remotes for the keyless entry system with the option button. The Panic button is the only thing that works. Can't set the Alarm, or lock/unlock doors.

Any Ideas?

Dave

First, you need to find out if there is an alarm or is it just keyless entry. Stock cars come with keyless entry only, alarm is an option. Keyless entry is pretty simple so there could be only a few problems, according to owner's manual:

#1- One of the doors is not fully closed
#2- The key is in the ignition
#3- Weak battery

If there's an alarm in the car then it's going to be a bit more complicated to figure out the problem.

Good luck!

Yes, but there is 2 of them. Open the first one, then the top opens too. Many owners find this months down the road. Alot of owner that bought their cars used find the owners manual inside.

dave, there is another compartment that opens up or towards the back of the car. The one you are speaking of opens to the front of the car. Kind od likea "two-part" glove box.

Anway the "secret" compartment usually means the one that opens to the back.

yup....when you open the first one, there is a latch on the bottom of the top piece (with the wind screen)....pull that latch, and you will find the secret compartment!
