Default Remote open/alarm not working

About 6 months ago, started having problems with my keyless entry and Honda car alarm.

Sometimes it would work (lock or unlock the doors, set the alarm), and other times it wouldn't. I could walk around the car, hitting the lock/unlock button and sooner or later it would work.

Would happen with both remotes that I had. One of the remotes had been used maybe 10 times over 3 years (its the spare).

Now it won't do anything! Won't lock/unlock/set the alarm.

Changed out the batteries in both remotes a couple of times to no avail. Little red light on the remote comes on so I don't think its that battery.

Tried to reprogram the remote but can't get it to do anything.

Any thoughts or suggestions besides taking it to a dealer?

You may have knocked the antenna off the alarm unit or bent it so that it isn't very useful - it is easy enough to do. Check the wiring and confirm that it is still in place.

PM me if you don't know where the alarm is - I don't figure we should advertise that on the internet.
