replacing the battery
i couldn't get the search to work, and i don't think that write-up in technical is what i'm looking for. basically, i need a new battery. from what i've read so far, i'll probably go to wal-mart or autozone for one. now when i get there...
what is the correct battery i need (general type or specific model #)?
how hard is it to swap the batteries out? i've never done this before. anything else i need to know/watch out for? thanks for any help.

All the stores will have a book or guide that you can look the S2000 up to see the correct battery part #. Changing the battery is about as easy and simple as it can get...never done one before I'd say 10 mins max.
Unhook the negative cable (black) first when removing the old battery and hook up the positive (red) first when installing the new.
Make sure you have your radio-code handy b/c you will need to put it in.

great, thanks a lot for the reply. sounds easy enough...any screws or clips or anything like that (that i can't easily see)? i'm gonna pick up a new battery at lunch today. when i bought my car (used), it already had an aftermarket head unit so i think i'm okay as far as the radio code goes.
No screws or clips. All you'll need is a small metric wrench or socket set to unbolt the tie-down and remove the 2 terminal clamps. Very straight forward and easy. I know some autopart stores even install batteries for free so you could call around and ask a few places if you wanted. Thats what I did with my Contour winter-beater since it was freezing cold out and figured he was getting paid to be there
awesome...thanks again, i'm glad i wont be expecting any troubles or anything. gonna go pick up a new battery now. good point about the guy being paid to work there, but i think i'm gonna do it myself (especially if it's so easy!). i should know how to do something like this anyway, ha.
Your car is only 3 years old, you may only need to add distilled water if the water level of your curent battery is below the lower mark on the side of the OEM battery. Make sure to add distilled water to upper mard only, do not over-filled above upper mark.

It is very possible his battery is already bad. Honda loves putting notoriously weak Panasonic batteries in the S2k for some reason. The quick failure could have something to do with being so close to the exhaust manifold.
what does crappy tire mean?
when i got my winter tires mounted at firestone, they performed a battery check and it performed very poorly. i didn't check for any marks on the battery itself or anything.
got a battery at wal-mart during lunch...man is that little bastard heavy! not too heavy, but a lot heavier than i expected. they have a brand called ever-start (or ever-ready, i already forgot); the model # is 51-4. $39.99 + $7 core fee, which you get back once you return the battery. they probably could've installed it for me but i didn't ask.
