I'll just post the picture on the cam caps since they are the most important.

Thank you for taking the time to post this thread. this maybe a dumb question, when I remove the cam caps and cams do I need to have them timing marks aligned. I think I don't. But when I install each cam I have to set the sprocket A aligned with the cylinder head surface and then place the cams on the journals making sure sprocket C and D marks are aligned. I do not need to remove the sprockets C and D from the cams right? They come out together after the caps are removed. Since this are gears it means they only go into one spot which will have them aligned.

Is there a sequence also in tightening the valve cover? I have received all the retainers and keepers just waiting for the valve compressor and compression gauge and more very helpful information from everyone. Again thank you.

yes. the FSM shows the torque spec (8.7 lbft) and sequence.

The timing chain is on a separate sprocket which drives the camshafts, so you don't need to set the timing anywhere special to remove the cams, timing only needs to be set during installation. White line on crank pulley aligned with the triangle on the block, and the cam sprocket and cams aligned.

Torque is technically 8.7lb-ft but that's just the math based on the actual metric 12 n-m spec.

The main consideration seems to be tighten the center, then the ends in stages and don't over-tighten.

Not a star pattern indeed. Valve cover is essentially work from the center to the outside when tightening.

you can try…but you'd need a sawzall. seriously though, both cams come out. You really need an FSM or check out the DIY links on s2ki.

You need to remove the camshaft caps, which surround both camshafts, so both camshafts have to come out.
