usually i drive from my house for five minutes in the residential area (stop signs and 25 mph speed limit, so no vtec/speeding) until i get to the parkway (stoplight) and so i'm always warmed up before i even have a situation where i get on to vtec (same thing with leaving work).

i was out and stupid me forgot that i hadn't given the car the five minutes to warm up when leaving for home today and banged the limiter hard (almost hit my head on the steering wheel 'cause i was snapped forward so violently from the stop of acceleration). summer is definitely over, before i could get my car hot and it'd stay hot for an hour after i stopped driving, certainly not now (still top down but a lot cooler barely 70s this week).

lol precisely . Within the first week I bought my car when I was almost 19 my dumb ass tried to get to 9k pretty much as soon as I left the colleges parking lot. It violently ceased, jumped OUT of first gear, and I proceeded to soil myself. I have moved far far away from that level of intellect since then. But we all make mistakes . That IS on an AP1, in reading your encounter I suppose AP2s limit themselves at 8k. Just take er easy, no harm done

the cold rev limit is way below 7k though isnt it? My AP2 wouldn't even get to VTEC if I remember correctly, it would slam into the wall around 5-6k as I recall (only happened once or twice by accident, got wheel spin in the cold when pulling out into the street).
