Rick's Gears Installed
I had my new diff built and installed this weekend. I used a Comptech reinforced diff with Rick's 4.44s. Both pieces were cryo treated. The LSD is a Kaaz unit. All OEM parts (bearings, etc) came from hardtopguy - he really took care of me on this one with organizing the parts we would need and getting them to me.
After I got the Kaaz broken in and changed the fluid, I took it out for a spin. I have to say that I was amazed by the difference the gears made in acceleration and how much stronger the car feels. The RPM range before the serious boost starts is quickly run through now because of the gears. For those that are running forced induction, this upgrade is a no-brainer.
Not to be an ass-kisser, but Rick really, really worked his butt off to get me these gears in a hurry so I can get back out on the track.
Thanks again Rick.

If you don't mind could you post the price you paid for all the parts, plus install? This is the route that I think I am going to be going soon so I want to see how much its going to run me.

Good info, thanks for breaking that down.
Where did you get the cryo-treatment done and how long was the turnaround?

Kevin-
I did a complete rebuild of the differential, so some of the things are not required (Rick's gears and OEM parts are all that are needed for a gear change) .

Cool, no prob. I'm sure I can find a couple of places with a little searching.

I need to confirm with the person that did it for me that they want to continue making the connection - they send the parts out - it was more of a favor.
