RPM linked whining sound after installing aftermarket TCT
My stock timing chain tensioner on my stock 2002 honda s2000 was failing and causing the chain to rattle. Someone recommended to me that I replace it the higher quality version from ballade sport. After the replacement the previously loud rattle disappeared, but there is a new rpm linked whiney sound as if the chain is tight or something is rubbing. I took a video after the install.
I was paranoid that I somehow made a mistake despite it being straightforward so I reinstalled the TCT.
Here is the sound after reinstall, it is about the same.
This sound is obviously loud and I did not notice it before the TCT install. Ballade sports said I am welcome to send the part back for them to examine it but that the sound is not something they have heard related to a TCT.
What should I look for?
Thanks all, let me know if you want any other details.

The timing chain is overtightened. If it continues, it will overheat the camwheel bushing, fusing it to the shaft and shearing it off. Many times the damage is too great to save the engine.
If the tensioner does not sit flush against the head before the mounting bolts are installed, then the tensioner cannot be used. The uninstalled length is too great for the current chain guide depth.

Boy, does that sound very tight. You realize that if the chain breaks with the engine on, you run the risk of eating some valves.

How much whine is "normal" ?
mine does a much quieter/subtler (and perhaps lower pitched) version of that very same noise, when the car is hot. My tensioner popped right in flush when I installed it.

I would highly recommend the Billman TCT as well...I wouldn't keep running the engine as is...if it's your only driver and you need to drive it, I would feel more comfortable re-installing the original tct until the new one arrives.

I agreed, an over tensioned chain will snap. I've grounded my S2k until I get this sorted out.

Ballade TCT's have been prone to similar problems, and ive seen both comments on s2ki; as well as facebook.
What bugs me is that they would say " the sound is not something they have heard related to a TCT"
They have had complaints since the origin of their TCT's.
Return it for a refund.
