Default s2000 2.0L reliablity?

If you had to guess how long an "average" s2000 2.0 motor would last in miles, the one that rev's to 9k.
A civic you can get over 200,000miles out of, can you get remotly close with an s2k because the engine is so high performance?
How about usual items like clutch and stuff? Are they meant to last quite a while as well?
I know it is no honda civic, but how reliable or long lasting is it? The NSX is a decently reliable supercar, almost like a civic reliability, how is the s2k?
I am looking getting the 2.0l, not the 2.2.
Is the 2.2 any more reliable than the 2.0 because it only rev's to 8k?
I am aware that i would probably be better off getting an s2k that was driven by grandma than by mario andretti, but looking for a rough average. I've always been scared at getting a high mileage s2k because they rev so high, and has the formula 1 style short piston skirt, and some people bag the crap out of them.
I plan on using it as a reliable daily driver that i change the oil and fill the gas, but not have to adjust the valves every 2 months or rebuild the motor every year.
I know it has over 100hp/l, and so does a ferrari 360. The 360 is not what you would call "low maintenance". But the ferrari is not a honda either. That is just what i'm checking to see!
Thanks,
-mark

for ever and ever..... its like the energizer bunny! Mine is sitting at 103xxx and runs like new... Just make sure you do the monthly checklist and such, check oil, tires, and operating heat when driving normally. I would say its good for about 250 before a rebuild is a really good idea. I was just going to buy a new F20C and plop it in after 250xxx or so.

wow! I guess its all how you take care of it! Very good to know.
Any idea if the 2.2 is more reliable than the 2.0? What are you running Killship and ahbongkadah?
Killship, you mention operating heat when driving normally...what do you mean by this?
Thanks guys!

2.0l is any year 2k3 or earlier. 2.2l for all 2k4+ (at least for US cars).

2k3 and older a usually called AP1 while the newer ones are AP2.

its the worst motor ever. I would rather get a old ford 6 cylinder than this "v-tak" engine.

Why would you question honda's reliability?

I'm actually a huge honda man. I've only ever owned civic's and preludes...
It doesn't surprise me actually, why would i even doubt honda.
Honda, and only honda, can build a 120hp/l car with 9000rpm redline and it can make 200,000miles! Wow!
I was worried about buying a used one...no more!
Thanks guys.
Great forum by the way!

good luck with your purchase. Just make sure you test drive one (AP1 if you are planning on getting AP1, AP2 if you plan on getting AP2). It is a high reving engine and some people don't take well to it, others (like me) love it.
