Exclamation S2000 AC Evaporator

Hi guys,

So I've recently re-installed the AC system in my '00 S2K after the previous owner had it deleted for weight reduction purpose.

New parts I installed:
Compressor, dryer, switch, lines and expansion valve.

So basically, everything in the engine bay. After a day of use, the air is no longer cold and after sending it to the AC shop, it turns out I have a leak INSIDE the car. That leaves me with the last piece of the system - The evaporator.

I found a FOUR SEASONS one on RockAuto. Has anyone attempted to change theirs? I couldn't find any guides on how to do it and any shop I'd take it to, they'd want to rip off the whole dashboard which I really don't want to do.
I might be able to work on getting the whole blower/evaporator unit out, but can the evaporator itself be replaced from the full unit?

Thanks,

Are you 100% sure that the evaporator is leaking? You would be the first I have seen. Can you isolate the unit and pressure test it separately?

I'm thinking my evaporator is going now too. Light yellow oil dripping from the condensate drain line

I just had my system checked and filled a couple days ago. FL whether already at 80*. I was 14oz low and now the system is blowing nice and cold. The shop put a dye in there to see if they could find the cause of the system being low. No luck. Only thought was, after 23 years, maybe an undetectable amount has seeped over time.

I think we are done with top down weather, we only get about 4 months out of the year here. So I may be bolting on the hard top here soon. Just need to get some window seals.
