S2000 Door Pins Malfunctioning
Hey Everyone... so here is the issue...
This started happening quite a while ago on the passenger side first and now it is happening on the driver's side door as well. The door pins with the rubber boot around it that lets the car know whether the doors are opened or closed are not working and are very random in operation. The doors could be open but yet the car thinks they are closed, or the door could be closed and the car thinks that they are open and sometimes (very rare at this point), it is on point.
The main concern I have right now is that these pins are an important contributor to the alarm working correctly. I can be sitting in the car with the door open, and the alarm is arming itself since it thinks it is closed. Or vice versa, someone could potentially open the door and the alarm wouldn't sound.
Does anyone know what the issue could be? I was thinking of taking off the rubber boot and cleaning whatever is in there, which I have no idea what the assembly is like, but not sure if it would be even worth anything.
Anyway... wanted to discuss with the community for any answers before I start trouble-shooting myself.
Thank You,
Andre

Isn't it just a small single phillips head screw holding them in there?
Had this problem w/ older Hondas I've owned. Forget the fix. Probably just a dirty or rusted contact not making contact.
