Can I use an ECU out of a 2004 s2000 (ap2) on my 2000 s2000 (ap1)?

I know that the airbags are the same from 2000-2005 but I completely forgot the ECU could have different settings with the different rev limits. I purchased the bags, seat belts and ECU as a package deal.

 

Yes, but here is what will happen:

-you need to reprogram the key
-redline will be reduced to 8k

Generally speaking, people would run an AP1 ECU in an AP2 car to get the 9k redline. I'm one of them.
