Default Anyone replaced an OEM ECU before?

I have a bad ECU and need to change it out.
Can I buy a used ECU from another car and put it in?
Does the part number matter or as long as the car is the same year?

ecu will work but the key has to be reprogrammed for the immobilizer. unless of course you get the JDM ecu which doesnt have an immobilizer

you can install it yourself (preferably in the Honda lot) and then have them program your key so you can drive your car.

make sure you get an ap2 ecu and not an ap1.

ap1 do have an immobilizer from what i've read

i was thinking up "upgrading" my 00 ecu to the 02/03 ecu as it supposedly has some "benefits" whihc may or may not be true. just feels cooler to have an 03 ecu

So it doesn't matter if I get an AP1 or AP2 ECU?
Both will work okay?
