Default S2000 Engine Question

I have a question I have had an S2000 for about 7-8 months now don't know exactly, but the thing is I have a picture of my engine bay and everything is clean except wasn't sure why the front part of my engine connecting the upper and lower block is dirty, has oil on it or IDK if it is normal just accumulating over time...I have a picture shows where it starts but my turbos intake blocks it...If no one really knows with this pic I will try posting another pic later...I am talking about the crap you see right behind my intake does anyone else have dirt or oil something there? And will cleaning it jsut take it right off cause I was not wiping off cause curious it might be a problem?!?

Perhaps you should get a better angle, considering you say it is 'behind the air filter'. Many s2k motors leak a bit of oil from the sides of the head, but since it does not effect compression I'd just clean it periodically and make sure leakage does not increase in frequency or volume significantly. Don't forget to CHECK YOUR OIL often as well.

It's normal.... dirt, residue and blowby consolidate anywere there is a crease. Where the two blocks meet there is a crease of metal and it will collect dirt.

Wipe it off and see how long it takes to reappear.
