S2000 Running very rich
Hey guys, I just bought a used s2000 and am running into this issue of running really rich.
It had a AEM EMS which wasn't tuned properly. I swapped it out with the stock ECU and have been running into an issue of running very rich (so was the AEM EMS). The car also idles at about 1500 rpm after the engine is warmed up.
Granted I'm in Chicago and the weather is about 30 degrees, but I don't believe that cause this car the smell of fumes. The car does have Toda Headers, Test Pipe, and Spugen Exhuast (could test pipe result in overly rich fuel smell?)
It just doesn't seem like a clean burn, and I don't know why the car would idle high... it has a 70mm Erick's Racing TB and AEM Intake.
I haven't checked the injectors or spark plugs. The car is at 28000 miles.
Any insight would be awesome.
Thanks,
Pixelharmony

the test pipe is most likely the cause of the rich smell. the gases coming out are not processed through the cat anymore therefore you smell everything you usually dont from most other cars. about the high idle, i can only imagine it is your throttle body, though i think the ecu should be able to account for that.
