about to buy an s2k, wondering if there are any differnces in the tranny between '01 and '02 models, also wondering if there have been any tranny or drivetrain problems with turbocharging, any other differences performance wise between '01 and '02 models would be greatly appreciated

 

I believe tranny was tweaked in 02 to address complaints of grinding 1-2 shifts, but admittedly, would have to do some digging to back this up. Many people have little or no trouble with the 00-01 with good technique, many still have trouble with the 02-03 with poor technique. Also, from a performance standpoint, some changes were made to the ECU in 02 that makes the car run a bit stronger.
