Turbine impeller sizing is so critical to a turbocharger's performance. I agree w/ Lurker that a properly set up turbocharger system is ideal when you're talking about pure performance. Simple equations, desired rpm efficiency and quality components would make for a very, very fast S2K.

several turbo s2000's have been built.

here is one;

this may have been the one the earlier poster was refering to - it is located here in Sydney, Australia. however the engine managment is Motec and the car has run 348rwhp on a Dynojet using 7psi on stock internals. turbo in pics is HKS GT3037S (56T) since upgraded to HKS GT3040

how much do you think it will cost for a custom turbo? Also, if you get a turbo, would you have to modify the hood of the car?

I think it a custom setup would be cheaper than a Comptech Supercharger. There are only 2 things that I can think of that will cost alot.
1. Turbo Manifold- That would have to be custom made.
2. Somthing like BB AP1 was saying, PMS or a Haltech.
Everything else you can find for a alright price.

My custom turbo kit is about $8,000.00 and that's most of the hardware at cost. There is a great deal involved in getting this right and you don't want to try to cut corners on cost.
