Default s2000 will not start

OK i have a 02 S i just purchased it from a guy who broke a valve! I replaced the valves retainers springs keepers, and head gasket! Car started right up! It being the first time i ever drove the car or and s2k i took it easy let it warm up then tried to see what it would do! It had a weird rev limiter at 3 thousand rpms. I thought nothing of it so when i parked it after only driving it 4 miles, the next morning it would not start! I am geting fuel, no fire! There are no codes! I was wondering if someone has had similar problems! PLEASE HELP my GF wants to look at christmas lights with the top down!

Have you checked the compression?

its not getting fire, i have an in line spark tester on one of the IC's and it does not spark! The compression is fine i did a valve job lapped all the valves and leak tested them! And it was running fine!

3k rev limiter? ask the previous owner about any sort of anti theft devices. ive heard some will have extra settings for valet mode with low rev limits.

It had a weird rev limiter at 3 thousand rpms. What conrols the timing?

The Crank Angle Sensor and the two Cam Sensor tells the ECU where things are, and the ECU controls timing. I have seen something like this before, it was the Crank Angle Sensor wiring to a Black Box Timing controller. But the car ran, but only to 3K and it generated CEL codes. So if your check engine light on?

CEL = Check Engine Light

Are you sure you got the ground connected on the rear of the head? next to the firewall?

Check fuses. Also, get a mechanic's stethoscope and listen to the injectors firing (clicking) as someone's cranking the engine.

I discovered that if the fuel pump fuse is out, ECU (Engine Control Unit) will not get any power at all. If found this out when I was troubleshooting Emanage harness.

Do you have correct spark plugs? This car is kinda picky about it's sparkys.

If you jump pins #4 and #9 on OBDII connector, and turn ignition on, the Check Engine light will start flashing out 2-digit codes which might point you in the right direction. Just post them here. Or better yet, pull them with a scan tool.

As mentioned above, check all grounds and ground lugs that they're tight.
