So this sound just started like 2 days ago. It sounds like metal scraping and gets worse the faster i get. I would say it sounds like metal scraping the rotor but I'm not sure. The sound is coming from only my front right side. The weird part is that most of the time it will make the sound when I turn to the left to like park or take a sharp turn.

It seems that I can prevent the sound most of the time if I don't turn too sharp although once it starts I have to come to a stop and then keep driving for it to go away.

Now....Ive searched and it seems that it could be my brakes. I know for a fact that I need brakes and I'm going to replace them this week but I'm really worried about driving my car.

Anyone have this problem before? Suggestions?

 

Uhhh... Check the pads on the car.. That means both sides.. Maybe wear indicators?

here was my problem for future reference to anyone who hears the same sound.

They were so low that they actually grooved my rotors slightly!!!

 

oh my god man! How long were your brakes squealing before all this happened?

 

well i bought my car like 3 months ago....but my car has 34k miles on it....ive heard people put way more miles on theirs?

the squealing was on and off but finally stopped and like 1 month later scraping started
