Default Scratched Block Question

hey fellas, i have a question about rebuilding my motor. I know i have a scratch on cylinder 1 that catches my nail. I dont know how deep it is but im starting to burn oil. It only smokes while in vtec. I've heard different things about boring these blocks out. I've seen yes and now. Can this be done? Or do i really have to find another block? And if i can rebuild, what piston, crank and rods should i go with? Since the rebuild will cost a good bit, i plan to stay NA instead of boosting it later on. So i will need a good NA build suggestion. Thanks for the info

These engines can be bored but I would take it to a mechanic familiar with boring engines with the FRM material on our cylinder walls. I don't know much about this process but Honda does provide stock pistons that will fit the bore. There is a very small margin of error however, which is why you want someone who knows what they are doing. Hopefully someone who has had this done will chime in with more info. Or just sleeve it and go after market
