Sea Foam, along with many other products can be successfully used to clean out carbon deposits on older engines. Results will vary, depending on the amount of buildup you have, but if you add to crankcase and run the engine for a bit, CHANGE THE OIL IMMEDIATELY. Much of it can burn off but it can be hard on bearings, gaskets and o-rings. Toluene is a common ingredient in many of these products and will disolve a rubber o-ring in short order. So if you add any to the crank case as the guy in that thread did, don't leave it in long or you can find lots of little oil trickles after a few days.

I have tried a few methods of carbon cleaning, but for injectors and valves a bottle of Techron concentrate (I buy at Target) every 5000 miles or so added to gas tank works pretty well and does not require an hour on a saturday.
