Arrow Sea Foam Engine Cleaner

I went to my friends house today and he started talking about this stuff called Sea Foam complete engine cleaner. Id never heard of it but he has used it on his 99 Cobra before and swears by it, so today I watched/helped him use the stuff.

You can dump the stuff into your gas tank for for best results add through the PCV vacuum valve. We did the later. As having the engine drain the entire can we let the car sit for 30 minutes as recommened. After the wait period he started up the car and let it idle for about 45 seconds then tacked it up to about 3k for 30 seconds. After that it was time for a ride.

He rode it hard for about 15 minutes and good lord did that pour out some white smoke. For about 10 miles there was nothing but a trail of white smoke billowing out behind us. After the smoke stopped there was a noticable difference in the idle and power in the car even riding passenger. He said the last time he used it he got about 30 more miles to the tank as well.

Has anyone used this on our cars? Im half entertaining the idea to use it as ive been getting a bit of a rough idle as of late and the car does have 70k on the clock just to see if it helps. Anyone?

Ive done it, it worked out pretty well, car seemed to run alot smoother afterwards, it did smoke for a little while afterwards but that only lasted about 30 min.

it pretty much burns off some of the carbon scoring in the cylinders and cleans things up in general.

I used the stuff. I pour 1/3 pint into the PCV vacuum valve and the rest i poured into my gas tank. I only let it sit for 5 minutes may be I should have let it sit a little bit longer. I dont know if i didnt have any carbon to burn, or what but the car did seem to idle smoother and my gas mileage went up about 10 to 15 miles per tank.

I am still going to the Honda dealer to have them professionally clean my injectors this weekend. I am at 41K

I used it on my 92 GM 4x4 Truck and I didn't notice a difference.

some people with the newer trucks (99+) have cold engine knock, they use it and it solves the knock for a while (or so they say). It's also supposed to make your idle smoother, so I guess it does work for some people, but I didn't notice a difference.

I think it's like $5 buck or so, so if you're that curious try it.

I did it last weekend. Didn't notice much change with my S2K, but seemed to help my old '91 Honda quite a bit. Some guys actually clean their piston tops by pouring a capful into each cylinder thru the spark plug hole, and letting it sit for a couple hours.

I'm not quite ready to do that.

Done it in the brake booster on my civic and my truck. Great success on the civic and the truck. They definately ran smoother by a lot.

I would not put it in my oil. It's basically just xoulene probably and would thin out the oil.
