well the light dont flash all the time not even all the time in vtec its like every now and then.

i'm thinking of just trading it in for either a different s2000 ap1 or ap2 or a sti. i owe around 10k on it and its worth 13-16. so i can make some money off of it. idk i just dont have the money to fix it.
man...dude...listen.

who cares if it doesn't flash all the time...it friggin flashes. you have a problem.

A PROBLEM. YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. stop driving the damn car. i don't care if it flashed ONCE, 3 years ago. It flashed and you have a PROBLEM.

what makes you think your s2000 is worth anything more than $10K with a flashing CEL? its a matter of time before it worth less than $6K.

you're not going to make money off of this flashing CEL S2000.

get a compression and leakdown test. $90. thanks.

So you are going to commit fraud and dump a car you know has problem on a unsuspecting dealer? Now you know why dealers get a bad reputation.

really?

i had no symptoms of an over-rev until 2 years later...maybe it would be wise to care.

Not true.
I had good compression and every single one of my cylinders were scored.

I never had a CEL. Car felt sluggish and ate a lot of oil. Spit oil out of the exhaust just like yours did. You have a problem and are in denial..may turn out to a small one but if you do not take action (do not drive it) it could turn into a big one.

Good luck

kay well i have an update but its a bad one. driving home today i got a Blinking CEL while in VTEC. i'm concerned but at the same time i'm not because it went away after it droped off 6k. so i'm thinkings its the oil, because i'm still waiting on honda for my filter to change it. so i think its something wrong with the vtec solenoid. but not sure gonna go get the code drawn tonight.

=( damn seafoam...damn impatients
This happened before your spark changes, etc.

Listen to everyone's advice on this thread and stop driving the car. Also, don't trade-in this vehicle acting oblivious to the blinking CEL.

One important question. Do you check your oil level often?

I've put seafoam in my engine, and flushed it out couple days later. I let it run for about 10-15 miles, but keep in mind that my oil level was topped.
Perhaps your oil was low when you added sea foam to the engine? Did you actually measure how much you put it in the engine/gas tank/pcv? Did you check your oil level prior to the sea foam treatment?

Why can't you pull DTC's? I'm sure there is a pending DTC stored. Why can't autozone or wherever just hook up a scan tool for you? Do they not want to waste their time or something?
Try this yourself if no one will help you.

a pending DTC (no CEL) will blink out a code just like a stored DTC (CEL on).

EDIT: This assumes you haven't been reseting your ECU.

i asked the guy he said if the CEL is gone it they wont be able to pull it but i will try that. i'm not in denial that there is something wrong. i've been stating that there is something wrong. i just cant afford to have my engine pulled apart and or afford to not drive the car. i cant rent a car i'm only 19.

also how much did ur engine cost to fix F20kills? i think i have your problem

and no i did not measure it i did about 1/3 of the container in each of the things and i toped off the oil after putting seafoam in the oil but before starting the car.
