Default Second problem in a month.

About a month ago i posted a thread about my rear end giving me a bumpy ride. I took it to honda and they replaced the rear (not the housing). I got the car back and still the same thing. So i take it back and they replace the cv joint. A week later i get the car back and the ride is a lot smoother. Although i noticed a slight whining noise coming from the differential. This past sat im on the on ramp about to merge with traffic. As i shift into third i hear a loud bang(almost like a gun shot) then severe grinding. how could this be?Honda cares says they have nothing to do with it and they wont cover my car because it has an exhaust(but they did the first time). Keneen honda is trying to do something but they are telling me they think its because of my driving.(havent dumped the clutch since ive got it back) How can the diff housing break after only three weeks of getting it redone?

There is a lengthy thread at the top of this forum about differential failure and how it was resolved. There are many other threads on it as well. Seeing as you have an 01, you're out of warranty; but since they just did the work on it, they should guarantee their work for 90 days minimum. Good luck resolving it.

just because it has an exhaust doesnt mean anything.. the exhause is totally irrelevant to the diff.. totally different and un-related.. they need to fix it.

I have extended warrenty. I'm getting a call this morning and they are going to let me know what teh situation is. From the sound of it they are going to replace it, they just need to figure out whon within honda is paying.

Honda dealerships (as far as I know) won't replace or rebuild any diff parts. they will only pull out and drop in a completely different diff.
