Default Secondary o2 sensor and T1R test pipe

After installing the Mugen ECU I found it's recomended that I also remove the cat to prevent any damage to it being overheated, so I replaced the cat with a T1R test pipe. Speaking with Ben at AJ Racing he said to leave the o2 sensor in the test pipe and it will be fine, now I am not so sure. What the worst case if I leave it plugged in, I know the unit is ignored by the ECU just not sure if it will work when I come around to fitting the cat and stock ECU back for the MOT.

overheated???... never heard o2 sensor being overheated... doesn;'t matter leaving 2nd o2 sensor on test pipe. u will get "check engine" light for not using cat which will end up running richer than normal drive. then it'll eat up ur o2 sensor.

No engine check light with the Mugen ECU.
No engine running too rich.

you might want to double check your sources

you wont run rich with a P0420. all it does is monitor the efficiancy of the cat. when the code is set CEL comes on but nothing changes in the fuel maps.

he also has a mugen ECU. it ignores the cat monitor all together.

i would get a plug instead of putting the O2 in.

TN - That's what I did. Lets you leave the o2 sensor in the cat and all you have to do is plug it in. I suppose I can send you my plug as I will be using the anti foulers.
