Default serpentine belt, spark plugs replacement

Hello,

I was wondering if the belt needs to be replaced as part of preventive maintenance or it is supposed to be lifetime. I noticed that the belt color was bit rusted, when I opened the hood, not sure if it needs a replacement.

I don't know why we need to replace spark plugs on the s2k, there is no issue so far, and car has about 60k miles. I am concerned if by replacing the existing spark plugs, it may cause any new issues ?

Thanks.

Serpentine belts are not lifetime and yes you should change it as preventive maintenance, as I do not know the condition of yours thats for you to decide. Changing spark plugs are also preventive maintenance and changing them will not cause issues unless you purchase the incorrect plug and if you purchase a plug that needs to be gaped insure it is gaped to the correct distance.

Your manual will suggest changing spark plugs every 100k or 7 years, and to inspect the serp belt every 30k for fraying and stretching. The belt shouldn't have any spider cracks or fraying edges, and the belt tensioner indicator will be out of spec if the belt has stretched too much. You can search to get more info on the tensioner and how to determine what is in and out of spec. This may help http://dave.harris.uno/s2000-replaci...uxiliary-belt/

I use oem spark plugs, and a goodyear gatorback serp belt.
