Default Shifter Bushing

I've replaced my shift bushing in my AP1 with a brand new one about 1k miles ago, the old one had cracked in half. Twice since I've put the new bushing on, it has fallen off the bottom of the shifter down into the casing at the top of the transmition.

Any way I can keep the bushing from falling off? It feels like I'm driving an old farm truck when my shift knob can move around 2" side to side and front to back in each gear.

Yes. Soak the bushing in very hot water for 5 minutes before you snap it on.

You are likely splitting the brand new bushing.

just did one on mine a few weeks ago, with the hot water trick it slides over the ball nicely, don't use sharp hitting force to get the bushing onto the metal ball, just slide it over smoothly, use generous amounts of Honda Super Hi Temp Urea Grease.
