What's the fix?
I'll be anxious to hear about this as well. I don't think there's any access to the splines without pulling the tranny.

No

Gotta pull the trans if you want 100% performance.

Thanks all for all the help.

I drove around some more today and believe that I can learn to live with this problem. I just need to step on the clutch for 2 seconds before shifting to neutral. Will this be bad for my baby?

I just dont want to spend too much money now since budget is tight.

At least we know what the cause is.

Thanks again everyone.

I have this same issue. Had it in the car before my clutch change and still have it now.

I didn't do my clutch change (I now wish I did) so I'm not sure on the condition of the spline. I would have hoped the shop who changed my clutch (they work on alot of S2000) would have cleaned up the spline if it was rusted. I did inquire about the condition and they didn't mention anything.

I'm wondering if there could be any burs between the splines as well because it's very inconsistent in my car. Sometimes it sticks and sometimes it doesn't

If I understand what you're saying it sounds like your clutch isn't disengaging completely when you press the pedal. There are several possible causes but I'd start by checking the clutch fluid level then maybe do a flush and fill on the clutch fluid.

Try putting the car in first with the clutch in and your foot off the brake on level ground. If the car moves slightly forward then you can be pretty sure it's a clutch issue.
Why is a clutch issue if you press down on the clutch, put it in first and the car feels like it's moving forward a little......?

please advise, this is happening to me.

thanks
