Shifting through gears with car off?

it doesnt mess up anything cause there's no load or moving parts whatsoever

I did it one time and the high engine speed blew my my 6th gear out. The car doesn't do 155mph the same anymore.

Just restating what an ase certified master tech told me when I was sitting in the show floor s2k @ my dealership shifting around. I'm sure one time one mess things up.

how does it mess up the synchros?
the synchros help move into gear while there is load...there's no load so the synchros are not wearing at all
and it isnt hard becoming ASE certified.. its like getting a bartender certificate... doesnt mean anything...

What about when the clutch is not depressed??

You don't need the clutch depressed to shift through the gears with the car off since there is no load.

my opinion on the clutch is if u feel resistance when trying to go into gear press the clutch and it eases in
dont force it
