Default Shock leaking

hi guys,

i went to panelwork to do regularly minor service. I noticed that there is friction noise from the back.
The guy from workshop told me that thaere is oil leaking on my rear shock.
Is it very dangerous if i do not replace it now? cause i'm kinda short of money.

cheers

It depends on how agressive you drive since that shock/strut is blown. Your handling is compromised. Just don't drive crazy and you should be fine for a while.

You will be fine, just don't push the car at all.

Check if your cv boots are in good shape. Grease usually shoots out of there and that needs to be fixed asap.

Drive safe man...I've been in an accident because a blown shock was not dampening correctly making that one corner bounce like crazy and lose control. Keept it slow and sane until you can get it replaced.

I disagree - if your shock is leaking oil, it is not "fine". It means that there is a leak in what is supposed to be a sealed system. The usual symptom is a loss in suspension damping and that can lead to handling problems, especially if the problem is only on one side of the car. If I were you, I'd look for a pair of used shocks in good condition and replace them.
