I installed a Comptech Exhuast last weekend, and I still haven't gotten used to the deep "droning" between 2k and 4k RPM. How much does the silencer affect this part of the RPM band? What are the negative effects? (HP Loss, louder at other RPMs, etc.).

 

i've gotten used to it now on mine. i think the harder part for me is how drowned out everything sounds after i've finished a long cruise on the interstate.

somewhere there's a sound clip of a comptech w/ and w/o silencers. it's too bad i can't remember the link, but they didn'nt sound all that different. of course, it wasn't all that high quality sound clip either.

 

Earplugs and/or a bigger amplifier are your answers.
