The whole theory behind power gains from aftermarket exhausts is that they're less restrictive. When you put a silencer in your exhaust, straight-through or not, you're increasing the restrictiveness of the exhaust.

The problem's too complex to just say "less restriction means more power, and more restriction means less power", but any claim that a silencer will not affect power output at all is very sketchy.

Here is a good pic form this link.

The Amuse Extra Titan (Ti Dual R1) @ $2100 !

Notice the straight through silencer that is inherent to the system.

This silencer is identical in configuration to the Invidia silencer

This duel system claims 9 RWHP gains. There is no way Invidia will lose 10-13 RWHP with silencer in place.

The effect is infinitesimal (that means minimal or not measurable 1-2 RWHP)

I think you guys are talking about 2 diffrent things?? I think gsp is talking about a resonator or muffler while Gernby is talking about a bolt in silencer that bolts into the tip of the muffler correct? The bolt in silencer will reduce any power gained by the exhaust. It turns your outlet to about a inch and a half, in a attempt to quite down the exhaust.

I take it you've read a LOT in 16 days...

You got that right buddy.

I know a heck of a lot more than you think. This is my first foreign car and probably my last but I do know what makes cars run fast and I understand the mechanics of combustion, flow, thermodynamics and 30 years of building fast cars and trucks.

Relative to what???????

In general any aftermarket system will be less restrictive than stock but if you reduce back pressure to much on an NA engine tuned stock you will LOOSE HP!!!!!!

FACT!

What do you think this is?

This is a fixed non bolt silencer in the $2100 system!

That is a Amuse titanium muffler! WE ARE TALKING ABOUT BOLTING A SILENCER INTO THE TIPS OF A INVIDIA EXHAUST! Silencer can be seen in the pic below. Its the thing next to the exhaust system!

Hey man wake up!

I have Invidia in my car!

WHAT I AM SAYING IS THAT BOTH AFTERMARKET SYSTEMS ARE THE SAME CONFIGURATION IN TERMS OF SILENCERS AND PREDICTED HP GAINS

The pics are amuse duel Ti!

click the link previous.

You will not lose 10-13 HP in a silenced Invidia.
