FACT!
In one sentence I found two grammatical/spelling errors. This makes it difficult to take you seriously.

OK,

First pic, Ividia with silencer bolted inplace.

Second pic $2100 duel Amuse Ti with silencer welded in place (integral to the system).

The main point of all this stuff is that:

1. With a stock normally aspirated engine decreasing the backpressure too much, results in a loss of HP.
2. The slight gains observed with an aftermarket system are due to the ECU being able to compensate with a minor reduction in back pressure resulting in a few extra HP.
3. Weight savings.

You guys both need to chill out.

JDMwhore, what gsp's saying is that the outlet shape of the muffler used in the Amuse system is analogous to that of an Invidia or other system with a separate silencer bolted in. He's not saying that it actually has a separate silencer that bolts in. Give him that.

Having said that, gsp, you're awfully smug considering the shaky arguments you're using.

The point you are missing is that all exhausts that include removable silencers are designed for maximum performance with the silencer removed. Sticking the silencer in totally screws the efficiency.

Your circled picture does NOT show a silencer.

Please proove it and I will go out there right now pull them out and trash them. Show me the data for a stock S2K with Invidia open and silenced.

The argument "the Amuse has a silencer and doesn't lose power, thus if you put a silencer in the Invidia it won't lose power" is faulty on many levels.
The flow characteristics between the two systems are not that different. The bends, diameters, transitions and the silencing materials used in both the resonator and muffler are not that much different.

These exhaust systems are not complex by no means.

I think there is great deal of commonality between these two systems. I selected Ividia because of the similarity in construction to the duel Aumse at much less cost.

Secondly, your argument's logically unsound. "The Amuse has a silencer and doesn't lose power, thus if you put a silencer in the Invidia it won't lose power" is no more valid than "the S2000 has a four cylinder and is fast, thus if you put a four cylinder in a Ferrari 360 it would be as well". In both cases, the system's too complex to make such a simplistic generalization.
I disagree.

Bottom line is that putting silencers in will probably affect your car's power output. How much it will affect output is impossible to ascertain without actually putting the car on a dyno.
I agree.

So I will leave it at that and get off this subject to your enjoyment.

How can he disagree with that four cylinder argument. That seems so elementary to me.
It's like, "My car had a V6 and yours only has a four cylinder, so mine's faster".

Oh well. I'm glad you guys resolved this peacefully.
