Default silicone in the combustion chamber

I have been told that either the cylinder walls or the piston heads are coated with a silicone layer and that if that is distorted that you will lose compression is this true, and if so what would you do to fix it?

I'm not sure, but you may be referring to Nikasil or a nickel silicon carbide coatings on the cylinder walls. Our engines do not use Nikasil linings, however I believe you can find the coatings in the K-Series engines. I'm pretty sure that the S2000's use FRM cylinder liners. Does that help?

I'm no machinist, but I'm sure you can rehone FRM without any issues. I would imagine honing wouldn't ruin a nikasil liner, but anything outside of that would probably require replating.
