That "rod" is the most likely the release fork. It can easily be pulled and pushed in and out and get misaligned. Perhaps this is what happened with you.

hey xviper please chime in on this please... but i just took it all out again and took the boot off to see whats its like inside the boot. So i saw the fork thing sticking out of tranny with the socket where the plunger is suppose to insert in. I realized the fork was sitting a bit low. When i aligned the slave cylinder to the socket and the two 12mm holes the plunger is not straight through out but is slanted. So i looked further into the tranny and from what i see i believe the fork where its connected inside the tranny has cracked out of its placing... im assuming its cracked b/c it looks like it but can this be the mis alignment. I wish i had a digi cam right now to take a picture of it but from what i see im thinking it cracked and thats why the fork is hanging a lil low thats why the slave cylinder wont line up straight. I guess i plan on bringing it to the dealer. Any idea what i should tell them and what to expect?

Looks like you didn't have the fork engaged when you put the cyl back in. It can very easy be dislodged.

When you cranked the engine, the pressure plate prolly grabbed it and broke something, or not as you didn't actually see a crack.

from further looking... i am most definite that it the top portion of the fork that is connecting inside the tranny has cracked and broken off of its usual place... as for now i just need help with what i need to do to get this fixed somehow under warranty. What should i and need i say to the honda tomorrow when i call them and let them know that my car is not starting. Should i tell them that i bleed the clutch fluid a few days ago and i drveo around fine until yesterday all of a sudden the car wouldnt start any more? Please give me your input and suggestions on what i should do. I am so broke right now and if this issue cant be fixed under warranty then my car will be sitting in my driveway for quite some time... and thats not what i want. IF worse does come to worse whats the estimated cost for fixing this fork?

Make up whatever story you want. I suspect that when they tear into it to diagnose/repair the problem it will be obvious that you disassembled it and broke it. Generally, if you break it you pay for it.

Thought you needed advice on the car.

As far as your little fraud scam because you broke it, I'm done here.

You can always pull the trans yourself and fix it.

I dont think im that skilled to be doing that type of work. I can always have someone do it instead of the dealer to reduce cost. But looking into it... would all i need to do is replace the fork? How difficult can it be once the tranny is out to replace the fork... how much could this part cost me? Does anyone have an idea on what the dealer will charge me if lets say this wont be fixed under warranty? Are there any on this forum who knows as much about this that could possibly do the job and ill pay you instead? I'm just hittn up ideas and trying to get ideas and opinions. I guess as long as it can get fixed under warranty then ill be happy if not... and dealer is going to charge me an arm and a leg then im gonna have to try to find the cheapest way to get it fixed. I wouldnt mind paying someone on this forum to fix it if they know what they are doing.

Thanks and i guess all i can do is wait and see what happens.

Why do you keep thinking that someone is going to repair your mistake under warranty? It isn't a defect in material or workmanship. You broke it; be a man and assume responsibility for your actions.
