So do we know much about the new 04 motor and what mods work with it?

Default So do we know much about the new 04 motor and what mods work with it?

Does anyone know if most of the aftermarket parts... cams, flywheels, supercharger kits, headers, etc will work on the new 2.2L motor?

Sorry but Im a newb... and I've used the search function that answered some of my questions. As a lurker here for a while I've kinda learned the basics about S2000's... I am planning on getting an '04 model in a few months after they've been in the dealerships for a while. My mother has an '02 model that I drive ocassionally and I've been extremely impressed by it. (I drive a ~280 RWHP 97 240SX SR20DET swapped BTW). Just wanted to make sure that if I dove into an '04 model I wont be sitting on the sidelines waiting for the aftermarket parts to become availible.

Thanks.

From photos the block looks very similar to the F20C and I doubt Honda did too many fundamental changes. In fact from the photos I've seen I expect you could even fit the Comptech SC to the F22C without much trouble. The higher compression may be a problem though.

That said, it only requires one bolt hole reposition to make it not fit without modification. As such, all the aftermarket manufacturers will amend their listings to 'fits 00-03' until they've actually tried it on an '04'. Will be very interesting.
