Default Soft Top Fabric to Glass adhesive

I did a search of threads relating to re-attaching the fabric to the glass on the soft top, but not many complete answers or solutions.

My car is in a hot weather climate and after being parked for a bit, I uncovered it for a drive and noticed the fabric connection along the bottom of the rear glass has come completely loose. The adhesive seems completely dry, not tacky at all and has come off of most of the bottom edge of the window on the inside and out, so if it rains without the car cover, the water will definitely come in... ugh.

Looking for recommendations or links to what the replacement adhesive should be... one thread mentioned marine grade silicone. I am considering machining a metal U channel to clip onto to the glass and then use adhesive to the fabric (or buttons/rivets if possible) but I need to take a closer look at how it's originally attached. Just looking for any info on the adhesive that others may have used in the past.

Thanks for any help you can offer,

X2

Likely I will ask when I'm back out on the road.

Bought this first generation car used and it appeared to have a replacement top from a later model with glass and defroster (not available on first gens)... so the top is in great shape but only now noticed the disconnect of the fabric. I would love to know what Honda used... but I have a possible work around/upgrade to how it's attached by using a metal trim clip that I can make in a fabrication shop. I assume this doesn't happen in milder weather... where I am is typically over 85degF and humid... the adhesive is not tacky AT ALL anymore.
