Hi, sometimes my soft top won't go down all the way. It happened when I first got my car, then it went away for about 2 months and now the problem is back.
It gets stuck about 8 inches away from where it would usually go all the way down to. So I usually just put the top back up about half way and bring it back down, if that doesn't work... I just repeat the steps. When it gets stuck it sounds like it wants to go down but something is resisting against the top. I don't think I need new straps because when it wants does go down, it actually goes all the way down.

The 2nd bar is being pulled back right? Just to rule out the straps, with the top up put your finger in between the top and the strap, it should be tight...if it's loose you need new straps. Modifry ftw.

Thanks guys, my straps seem okay I think. They are pretty tight but should they have slack when it is about halfway down? Or should it be tight the whole time it is going down?

 

Use your finger to push that bar back as the top goes down. Dont rely on the elastic straps. Goes for all s2ks, even fairly new ones. If you dont, the top will pinch itself with the levers and cut it.

Design flaw.

Keep rearward pressure all the way till your hand nears the secret compartment. Enjoy your fully closed top
