Have a pesky small rattle from the soft top latches? Don't spend money on honda tape for the exorbitant amounts they charge! You can do this with two flathead screw drivers and some electrical tape:
1) Remove the soft top latches (if you can't figure out how to do this you shouldn't attempt this fix)
2) Open the latch, and remove the two c-clamps. Use one flathead to anchor the clamp, use the other flat head to push away. These can shoot out so make sure to angle the clamps to shoot out back into the bracket.
3) Remove the two hinges (slides right out) and place 1 strip of electrical tape on each side of the metal. You may need to trim the tape a bit. It also works best when it goes along horizontally, like how it's marked in red
4) Reassmble the latch, and place the c-clamps back in. The c-clamps may be a bit tricky to put on, just line it up with your finger and use a flathead to push straight down onto the post.
My driver-side latch rattles like mad and I found that the hinges/c-clamps have some play in them (slide in and out a little). Is that what this fixes?
Depends. The c-clamps are pretty tight when put on properly. Is your C-Clamp pushed in all the way? I (and others) have found that the tiny gap between the plastic and the metal in the latches are what causes the rattles
