Thumbs up Softop Noise PLEASE HELP!

alright, the back passenger side of my softop right on the side of the window creaks when driving.... if i push my hand on it hard it stops.. im guessing the air flowing over causes it to billow and then makes it creak for idk what reason...

has anyone had this problem?

What did you do to fix it?

is their any way of tightening the top to make it so it wouldnt billow?

also, under the flaps on the outside (flaps on either side of window) has like velcro sewn into the top... is their like a pad that should be velcro'd on??? im wondering why theirs velcro sewn into the top.

thank you

riley

Not sure about a fix for the noise, but the velcro is something thats there for predelivery of your vehicle. Never to be used again.

Someone please find me answer to this problem, too. Started about 500 miles ago for me and it's killing me...along with my driver's rattling air bag cover.

I had a noise from exactly this area but it was more of a constant ticking when cold than a creaking. I managed to find it... at the bottom edge of the rear window there is a metal bar that sticks out past the edge of the glass by ~1/2" IIRC. The flaps of the top have that velcro like material that you mentioned where they touch this metal bar. On the edge of the velcro-like material, there is a small strip of rubber or something like it, and this was rubbing against the metal bar making a "gritching" noise when cold.

I wrapped the ends of the metal bar in felt tape and it went away completely. Until the felt tape came off. Then it came back. I need to find a more permanent solution.

While we're talking about weird noises, I have this really loud clacking noise noticeable when top up behind my left shoulder on big bumps. Sounds like something near the top or seatbelt mechanism, or possibly in the trunk near the fuel filler. Behind the drivers outside shoulder is not exactly an easy place to diagnose a rattle! Anyone heard this one before?
