Softtop removal- does it affect rigidity?

Wouldn't the hardtop add rigidity?
Especially when you bolt it down.

It does not. The hardtop is nothing more than an aluminum shell.

alot of people remove their softtop without reinstalling any other braces. its not necessary and your car wont break in half

For me, even if I had a hard top (which I will) I wont be removing the soft top cause sometimes I like that look. What if the weather gets bad all of a sudden? Road trip without the hard top too, cause you want to go convertible?
