Softtop removal- does it affect rigidity?

if that's the case, you should just get a solid roll cage welded or bolted in. it will be more effective than the cr brace.

It's a big jump between adding an OEM hardtop and brace or going balls out with a full custom cage.

OP, let us all know if that CR brace can be fitted. I suspect you are going to have to fab some brackets

op stated his car is for track only. what makes a cage (ie. harddog) balls out? seems like the most sensible thing to do.

Yes but that wasn't the question. The HT isn't structural and it has no effect on body rigidity.

With your reasoning, the tonneau cover would increase rigidity since it's stronger than air.
