Solution for Stalling W ENGINE TOP CLEANER DIY
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, YOU WILL NEED TO RESET THE ECM SO HAVE YOU RADIO CODE READY
Backgroud:
Like many of the older/higher mileage S2000 mine have the imfamous stalling problem. After reading and talking to some local S owners, I did a intake manifold carb/throttle body spray job, the intake manifold is VERY dirty and coated with a film of oil. After repeat sprays and cleaning the intake manifold is spotless but the stalling probelm never really goes away.(it helps but it's still there)
<Stop reading here if you stalling problem goes away with intake clearning/spray job>
And for those who still have the stall, this is what i did to get rid of the stall COMPLETELY. Just to give you some idea, my S has 93K on the ticker

Direction:
1)Remove the negative side of the battery cable
2)Remove the spark plug cover(4hex bolt)
3)Remove the coil(4 10mm bolt)
4)Remove the spark plug(4 sparkplug, good time to regap and put anti-seize on the thread)
5)Insert the funnel over the sparkplug hole and pour into all four of the cylinder one by one(WARNING: TOP ENGINE CLEANER SMELLS EXTREMELY BAD, USE ONLY IN OPEN AREA)
6)Cover the sparkplug holes with rag, make sure no dirt fall under the holes.
7)Wait 2-3 hours for the Engine Top Cleaner to work.
8)After the waiting period, remove the fuel pump fuse, reconnect the battery cable
(Leave the rag there or all the juice will burn your paint)
9)With the Gas Pedal all the way down, crank the motor(just like how you would when doing a compression test) to remove the loosen carbon on the piston.
(the car shouldn't start without the fuel pump fuse)
10)Clean the sparkplug tube and any loose junk.
11)Reinstall Spark plugs, spark plug coil bolt, sparkplug cover.
12)Reset the ECM and enter code for radio.
13)Start the car(WARNING: The motor will put out HUGE AMOUNT of SMOKE within the next 5 minute, make sure you go somewhere empty)
My Stalling problem is GONE completely after this, it loosen a good amount of carbon from the pistons, if your S is stalling even after a carb cleaning job, try this and see if it will get rid of the Stall.
Thanks and happy DIYing

Sounds like the same basic stuff as Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner, which also works really well. I personally like to leave the spark plugs in the engine while cranking over and then just replacing them after the initial start-up. You also should change your oil after the initial start-up since some of the cleaner will seep past your rings and get into your crankcase and seriously deteriorate your oil.
Risky and dangerous if not done correctly.
Also, this probably covered up the problem more than fixed it. I bet it'll come back again.
Carbon deposits won't cause the "studdering" idle problem. But again, I'm creating a thread for this, and the correct trouble shooting steps, and I will put it in the FAQ.
