You have it wired wrong. Since you're using the SPAL interconnect, you need a second relay to switch in the ground for it to work.

85 on relay goes to Blue/Black
87 to chassis
86 to chassis
30 to gray wire
87a no connection

Look at your wiring diagram. They are the terminals on the 2nd relay you need to purchase.

I don't see 85 86 87 on the sheet that I posted .. I defiantly don't understand wiring too much or the lingo ... Any way to be explained simply ? What do I need to buy to connect to the relay marked BB?

Take a look here for the complete wiring: https://webstore.spalusa.com/content...O-KIT_SPEC.pdf

Page 4 has the details for the 2nd relay.

Here's what I was thinking using the hardware you have now. In this configuration you don't need the 2nd relay. This setup will work given the relay coil does not have a diode across it. I emailed SPAL to confirm and will post here when I get a reply. You can try in advance if you wish:

I really appreciate the help .... So the only difference I have on the way I wired the harness and the picture is that my orange wire goes to the abs fuse ..
The picture says to ground it .. Correct ?
Why does my chart say switched ignition ?

Correct, ground the orange. Using my method you won't need a 2nd relay.

The SPAL wiring has you connecting the Orange to +12V switched and the Gray wire to the second relay. The purpose of the 2nd relay is to apply GND to the Gray wire when the OEM Blue/Black wire gets +12V (i.e. when the fan is triggered to turn on).

Either method should work. Again, I just emailed SPAL to confirm my approach is OK - specifically that there is no diode across the relay.

Hope this makes sense.

For reference here's the SPAL way to wire it per their manual:

These diagrams make a lot more sense !

I will try to ground the orange wire tomorrow and see what happens .. Worst comes to worst it won't blow anything right ? I hope I don't have to get another relay
