JDM cars are limited to 180 kph from the factory. (S2000 included).

Post in the UK forum. They import a lot of JDM S2000's and know how to disable the speed limiter.

All JDM Cars have the speed limiter. Mine aswell. I didnt remove it.

Best way to remove it is to use Apexi RSM but that wont be enough aswell, it's weird that in some cars like Integra Type-R you can remove it with this small specific Greddy part they use only for removing the speed limit, in S2k the solution is the Apexi RSM but even sometimes that wont do the job aswell, what the mech told me is that there is this adjustment they have to do with the RSM before they install it, than it perfectly removes the limit.

It's not an easy job like cutting a wire or making some simple adjustment, i experienced; even the e-manage wont remove the speed limit. We tried when i had one and (in order to adjust the 550cc injectors i installed to try to solve my problem i have with the car) my speed limit wasnt removed.

Is this speed limiter a fuel cut off or an ignition cut off? Just curious.
