Default Speedometer/Tachometer OUT!

Very strange...Speedometer, Tachometer, battery indicator, fuel indicator are all out. Other misc. lights (check engine, ABS, EPS work fine)

EPS light is on all the time too.

Anyone ever experience this before ?

(Checked fuse #9. Instrument Panel. It's ok)

LOL! Same thing happened to me today too. The EPS light is on because your power steering is gone (at least mine is).

Is your power steering out? That should be obvious by feel.

You might want to check your battery and alternator. The instrument cluster getting flakey is often a sign of low voltage.

OK, well that's actually good news, sort of. At least it means the light is consistent with reality. It's not dangerous, in and of itself. But obviously something is wrong, and until you know what then we can't say for sure.

I think you may have had a really low voltage event, and your ECU got confused. One of the things that will make the EPS light go on is if the wheel speeds don't match the speedo speed. After a short while where they match again, the computer resets and the light goes out and the steering starts working again. See if that happens.

I really think you ought to test the battery and alternator. Most auto parts stores can do a quickie test for free out in their parking lots.

Took it for a ride...EPS light went off almost immediately.

Car is running fine.

(Battery is brand new as of May. Only have 14K miles)

Hopefully it won't happen again......

Well, you're in better shape than me then. Mine is in the shop awaiting a replacement cluster (or at least parts of).

Bumping up this topic. The same thing happened to me today. My power steering/speedometer/tachometer are out, everything was fine earlier this morning. I do have a comptech supercharger with the comptech esm, but would a loose esm wire affect all these things? Does anybody who had this problem earlier have any input?
