Default Spoon brake owners...Help with install Questions

Hi all.

Just wondering if there are any Spoon brake owners out there that can shed some light as to what is involved in installing these brakes on a S2000? One little issue is getting those stubborn philips head screws to come off from the stock rotors to allow the rotors to be removed. I have seen some use a special "impact driver" with a philips head at the end which is struck with a hammer to remove these stubborn screws. Thus I ordered one from JC Whitney.
Now the serious issue is the metal dust/heat shield guard which is behind the rotors. I removed the stock calipers and placed the Spoon calipers along side the general mounting area where the caliper would go and I see the dust shield guard will have to be removed in order for the Spoon caliper to fit? How did you guys do this or go around this? Do I need to cut the guard off, or is it somehow removeable? Or do I bend it in a certain way to allow the Spoon caliper to fit?

Thanks in advance for the help,
Will

i believe ur caliper comes w/ bracket which will clear the dust cover.

as for taking the rotor, yes. use impact driver and hammer that sucker out.

you have to cut it off or kill 2 birds with one stone and seperate the hub from the knuckle. By doing this you can change your wheel bearings and such. Otherwise you have to cut it unless you can bend them some how but i had to cut mine.

Yes, after visually gauging how the Spoon caliper should mount onto the car I kinda figured cutting may be required. So what did you use to cut the shields? Is bending the shield not really possible?

Thanks!

On mine...I cut one side. Then I took a long, hard look before attacking the other side. The other side got the shield bent back (no cutting done).

So I can bend the shields towards the car and it will work? That would be great news! How and where would I bend the shields? Thanks for your help!
