Spoon vs Mugen!!
Here is my thoughts on the following:
You are correct about the relationship between HP and Torque but remember that to get to the new higher Torque that your mods have produced you must either accelerate (slowly) through the lack of torque first ( remeber that the Honda peaks torque at over 7000rpm), or you must dump the clutch suffiecently high enough to get you over the lack of low end torque ( This is why our driveline is subject to such abnormal abuse ). Essentially we try to ignore the lack of torque at the low end from a standstill and just start accelerating from 50+Km/hr instead of 0, by dropping the clutch at +7K rpm.
Also, about PEAK HP. If a product gives a larger PEAK HP, that just means there is MORE torque at that RPM. So isn't that a good thing?
May I muddy the water completely? Let's not forget that the single add-on that produces the most performance increase on the S is neither Mugen or Spoon - it's Comptech! Those guys across the waters make great stuff but it takes Californians to really make it go.
Garyj,
That statement is incorrect.
If you are talking about a single bolt on product that gives the most power, Top Fuel beats Comptech, and by a considerable amount. Not only does their turbo kit put out more power, but it was completed and on the market long before Comptech's SC was ready (I saw the Top Fuel S2000 at Tokyo Auto Salon nearly two years ago).

I remember one time a man called my Dad's business and asked for a certain product. Dad said he had it and gave the customer a price. The customer said he could buy it for less at another shop. So my Dad said, "Then you should go and buy it there." The customer responded that the other shop didn't have the product. So my Dad said, "Well, if I didn't have it I'd give it to you!" Dad wasn't real educated, but he was smart!

That's the way I find it with lots of S add-ons. Lots of promise but nothing in stock. Sometimes, Comptech SC's are in stock - I waited a month for mine!
Ok.......
Anyway, I know Derryck has a kit and they sell the kit in Orange Park, FL. There are plenty of threads on the kit, including price, parts, and a dyno sheet. As everyone hear says, just do a search! You won't find that much stuff searching on google or yahoo, because most parts offered are by japanese makers and you can't really recognize the japanese writing. If you are only looking for parts in stock, you bought the wrong car. Parts for the S2000 sell out as soon as they come.
As for the Forced Induction, the turbo made 30 more hp to the wheels than the Supercharger! And if you wanted to go faster, a turbo is much easier for that. They don't even sell a pulley for the SC kit yet....

Slightly OT, but....
Can anyone direct me to a link where I can find sound files of both the Mugen and Spoon exhaust systems.
I live in Knoxville, TN, and probably won't get to hear one in real life.

I'm reminded of my birthday message to S2000online:
