How long should it take to change all 4 springs on my S? I'm wondering if it would be worth it to just install the springs myself instead of paying $250.
Thanx,
Alex

if its your first time doing it at all, it could take you up to a whole day if you don't have the right tools. i have done it before on my accord and i can do all 4 corners in about 2 hours. i highly recommend a spring compressor if you want to do this at home, i "rented" one for free from autozone.
personally it can be a pain in the ass, so i would work a couple hours overtime at your job and come up with the labor money. but it is rewarding if you do it youself, good luck.

If you do tackle this yourself, do yourself a favor: remove the gas tank filler tube from the quarter panel. It's 3 nuts(8mm) at the gas tank door and 1 bolt(12mm) on a metal support.
Time: give yourself about 5-6 hours for a first time .
Springs: make sure you know which go in front/rear.
Patience: Pick up an extra can of it at the store!
As Razor stated, there is great joy in doing a mod yourself.

Even if it takes all day I wouldn't pay $250 to have it done. This way you will know the suspension is pre-loaded etc..
Also give you a great project to do on the car. I would recommend having a buddie for moral support and an extra set of hands when needed. There is a thread or 2 that tells how to do it.
Good luck

We've done it twice down here in SD. First time = 8 hrs. Second time = 5 hrs. Next time = 4 hrs?
Don't think it can be cut down by more than that unless you have power tools and a crew to help.
It is not difficult to do, but helps to have an experienced buddy for a crutch (thanx Jay619). That AND the rented strut compression tool and your golden.
Guess it also depends on how valuable your time is compared to the value of doing it RIGHT yourself.
