Default Springs

I just visited an import shop to ask around for different springs/coilover sets that are currently available. The rep told me HKS just released a new set of springs which only drops modestly but retains the 50/50 ratio of the stock suspension. I was told that no other suspension mods out on the market currently do this. Could somebody tell me if this is true or would it still be better to go w/ coilovers?

Springs + shocks/struts is probably the best way to go. Coilovers is definitely the fanciest, but I heard adjusting those things are annoying and sometimes you have to be on top of it frequently. Could be wrong though. All out performance, coil overs are probably the best though.

I have the KG/M DR21 supersports, very conservative, but still, springs suck, if you have the funds, get coilover kit. There are a few Tein RAs on sale for less than $1500 in marketplace section.

It really depends on how in tune you are with your car, and what you intend to do with it.

Personally, I'm disappointed with springs, and plan to get N-Zeros in the near future. You can tell the stock shocks were made for the stock springs, and by changing them, you really throw off the bound and rebound rate of car, and the more you drop it, the more uncontrollable it wil feel when turning and hitting bumps.

If you do get springs, get progressives, and shy away from more than 1 inch drop, it will definitely take away from handling, especially if you're on the track, and there's bumps on the track.

Again, I highly suggest you go with coilovers, and try to get them used, most companies will rebuild worn shock bodies, so don't worry about damage, just wallet damage I guess, and get used.
