Default Spun bearing !!

Today after work on my way home , I stop at a stop light and then started off slow and normal , got to 3rd gear and the opened it a little ... Took it to 7500 rpms , suddenly my car loses power for a split second . It regained power to normal after that . I figured nothing was wrong and drove normal for 7 miles .
I stopped at a post office and got out of the car while it was running ... I hear a tapping sound .... I opened the hood and listened . It sounded like it was coming from my valves . I assumed it is a broken rocker arm or something ...
I drove 3 more miles to home and opened the hood up again when I get home .
I check all oils ect and it seams fine . As I listened closer , I notice it's not coming from the head or valves!!! It's coming from my block
The only thing I can think off is I spun a bearing at 7500rpms ??

Tomorrow I'll take it to Honda and see what they will say ...

The funny thing is , I had an appointment scheduled next week to see why my car was spuddering intermittently at low rpms , smoking white smoke in the mornings and my cruise control not working .
I've had my car for about 4 months and put approx. 5k miles on it . I don't drag it never !! alltho I do drive fast every now and then .

That's what happened to me at 76k miles. Hondacare came through and replaced the short block after 1 month of haggling with them.

Be firm but nice with them and provide them with as much documentation of any service done to your car.

I wish you the best of luck.

heh , I hope my honda is as good as yours ... I took the car in 2 months after I got it to say it was spuddering at low rpms . The mechanicly inclined service person said " its just your driving , and if a tech looks at it he can't imitate your driving ! " I laughed and my girl said , it does it with her driving too , so she must be good at imitating my driving ....

anywho , I don't have any info on tune ups , because I did them on my own .

thanks for the luck .

Took it to honda today , I had another service person help me . He said he's sorry for what happened and sorry that the service man didnt take me serious a month ago .
I asked him about warranty , he said it should be covered under warranty . He also said the motor sounds likes its been eating its self alive , because the CEL is not on , even tho it does seem like a spun bearing .

When I woke up this morning , I figure check the oil again . I checked , there was nothing ... no leaks ect .. I added 3 quarts and it seemed full after that . It's weird how the oil just disapeared from last night . I told that to the service guy and he was stumped .. he said it could have gone out the exhaust , but I checked it when I got home yesterday ...

anywho .. they wont be able to actually tell me what happend ect untill nov. 3rd , which was my schedualed date for serviceing , alltho they will give me a rental untill my car is fixed .

usdm, good luck.
Joe, if it was any other car manufacturer they would have honor it under extended warranty without you having to haggle with it for over a month. I said it before and I'll say it again FCUK Honda.
